2003 Fisher Pro Hawk 170 server

Hello everyone! Last year I purchased a 2003 Fisher Pro Hawk 170 boat. I knew when I bought it the fuel gauge wasn't accurate - when filling the tank, the gauge only shows 1/2 full. I tested the gauge, and it is fine. ( I jumped the pink server wire to the black wire on gauge, and it registered full). I checked the server, and it is the 'arm' type. I am wondering if this is the correct server, and even if it is, can I replace it with a different type that is more accurate? I am thinking my problem is with the server. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Where was the sending unit on your boat? I think I have a faulty sending unit but am unsure where the unit is on my hawk 170
