Removing carbrator

Not hard at all.----One nut is easy to remove and the other can be removed using a screw driver and a small hammer.-----------I know some would scoff at the idea of doing the latter , but is saves a lot of time.----I used to do that all the time when working at a shop, nobody complained.

Sure, the torque on those 1/4-NF nuts is only about 80 inch-lbs.----Done this many , many times with no problems.----Saves removing / possibly damaging the recoil.-----For me removing the recoil is no problem, but for one working on these the first time it can be a challenge.

Thanks for the tip, I'd never thought of that trick. I have an '84 4.5 Johnson that's probably an identical cousin to the 6hp
