2004 johnson 150

having trouble with fuel restriction. we have been using ethanol regular gas. start up is always instant. when running after about 1 mile, our bulb is soft, check engine light/whistle is active. motor does not die, let rest and resume for short diatance, same result. we have replaced hose from tank, to waqter separator, to motor. we have "opened thermostats" by slightly raising the "caps" on top of the the thermos. we have check bulb, it is about 1 year old, seems to be free of cracks.

i am told it is residue in gas tank, which happens because of ethanol fuel, corrosion inside of tank, is blocking fuel, any ideas what to do next?

When the light and horn come on, will the mtr still run at WOT okay ?? By pass the boats fuel system with a 6 gal tank and hose and see what happens.

thanks for tip. good idea...will try tomorrow and advise. will the gas simply flow to motor without assist of some sort, if i just place line in 6 gal tank?

It will but if you use another fuel tank, fuel line and primer bulb from another outboard that eliminates the fuel system completly. Plug it directly into the mtr.
