just a thank you to everyone who helped me get the devil out of the motor. motor runs pretty good considering i installed a couple of used coils i had, filed the points changed the lu oil.
so now that it runs, i guess its time to sink some $$ in parts. first up is a reseal. i am going to give it a try. i have a old manual that shows most of the repairs.
i had a bad carb(?) originally. i changed the needle bearing but still it ran like poo. bought a 25 hp carb, rebuilt it, adjusted the float and now it runs.
almost scary how much torque the motor has. it really moves the 14 footer way better than the 15 i had.
hope the videp came out?

kim,
yes the points are at .020 and the plugs at .030.

omg the price of a new prop is $$. i think i have only two choices for props? a 9 or 10 pitch. limited selection on these oldies. funny you mentioned the fear factor. in the video i did try going wot, but i backed it off a bit. boat got a little squirrely. i could feel the boat sliding from side to side. not a lot, but enough to make me feel a little uneasy.

next up will be a reseal. thanks kim for all the help! :)
