converting 115 johnson to a 140

I have a 1984 johnson 115hp vro. A friend gave me the exhaust plate off of his 140hp Johnson. My plate is flat, his is the humped type with tuned exhaust. He said all I need is some carburetor work to convert my 115 to a 140. I'm a pretty good mechanic but this is my first outboard. If anybody has any info or history with my situation please help me out. Thanks
 
Same displacement on all these motors -----90 / 115 / 140 --for any given year.----Difference is in carburetion / cylinder heads and exhaust.---------The 90 HP has smaller intake ports in the block as well.
