1999 Evinrude 225 Fich Is it a PIECE of Sh... or a decent engine?

I just bought an Atlantic wellskiff 23' long and I had no choice but take the motor that came with it.Should I take to the Scrap yard or give it a whirl.

That is what Ive been told.The guy I bought it from said he purchased it from a guy who had a boat fire and sold it for a good price!!!! Duhhhh!
