1998 johnson 0cean pr0 150 hp

I purchased a 150 hp Johnson ocean pro 150hp for my 1988 bayliner trophy center console it is 18' 7".
Will it work on my boat? I have since found out that the max horse power is 130, but I am not
certain.
 
There should be a Coast Guard placard mounted near the helm detailing the boat's limits...i.e. HP, passengers, total weight.
