" I just bought a Chrysler 3.5hp outboard at a garage sale. Hasn't been run in about 6 years, but was running good when stored. Anyone know the gas:eek:il mixture? Also, is there anything special I should do to the motor before I try to start it after so long? Clean the tank? Oil the gaskets? Anything special? Help!! "

Art DeKalb has a good 5 point check up for small outboards from garage sales, on his web site. Take a look and see if it helps.

" You would be safe with 1/2 pint of good two cycle undiluted oil per gallon. If the motor is post 1965 and has all roller bearings you could go with 30 to 1, but you need to assure it is all needle and roller bearing. My book says 1/2 Pt. per gallon. Art "
