2008 Honda 25 HP elect start & trim

Hi,

Hope someone can help looking at a motor on the web and I don't have the model # yet. Did the 2008 Honda 25 HP come in a model that would be set up for tiller or remote? This has trim and electric start controls on the motor and the seller says it has a cable plug in as well for remote. Any help greatly appreciated.

As long as it is a 2008, the seller is correct.

If you want to convert it to remote control, you will need to ....
-Remove the tiller handle
-Remove the friction control
-Install steering link
-Connect wiring harness
-Connect throttle and shift cables with an appropriate Honda shifter.
-If you do not use the side mount control box with key switch in it, you will need the buy the shifter, keyswitch assy, and wiring harness.

Thanks for the help Mike what do you think it would cost ballpark for parts?

A side mount control box, with key, warning lights and 17 ft wiring harness is about $300.

If you need a binnacle mount and separate key switch, you have to also buy a separate wiring harness. They turn out to be a little more expensive.

Throttle/shift cable costs vary by length and quality of the cable - would be about $75 - $100.

The steering arm, plate and hardware run about $70.
