Suzuki High Battery Voltage

I have two Suzuki outboards installed in 2011. When running for say 1 hour the battery voltage gets to 14.9 volts. My reserch on batteries indicates that this is too high for reasonable battery life.

Suzuki has not in writing denied my claim for a warranty regulator replacement, just ignored me. Boat US has even written then Customer Service Manager, Brad Wright in Brea, California. Even Boat US has been ignored. My next step is the Massachusetts Attorney General's office of Customer complaints. Has anyone had similar problems? I can supply many more details as I am an electrical engineer with a BSEE and a MSEE.

OK, you have made your point. That is just the way Suzuki's charging system is designed. I think if you don't already have a traditional "fill type" battery you may want to borrow one and reply on the board , with the change. High voltages with Suzuki Outboards is not uncommon. There ECM or EEM or what it's called today requires some serious power. Thanks Martin
