Stuck at the landing. What a bummer.
Got home and started testing all electrical components.
The only thing that is not testing out as it should is the CDI unit. Per the honda manual.
How oftern do they go bad on these 90's.
Also the last time out I forgot the key on assy and parked the boat, opps.
And we do have an onboard charger-could that have fried something in there.
Also when the key is on there is very slight buzzing noise coming from the CDI unit.

The CDI units are pretty durable....but they do fail sometimes.

Not sure what the buzzing sound is.

Before you just replace the CDI unit, make sure the voltages going to it are what they are supposed to be. Be sure to check the rectifier/reg, which has connections to the CDI. You sure do not want to fry a new CDI.

Make sure there is no ground on the stop lead...like the key is off or the safety landyard is pulled....there could be a ground somewhere on the black/red lead...but that would not make the sound in the CDI.

Hopefully, someone in the forum has heard these sounds before.

Mike
