velvet drive 1500 slips

I have a 1987 sunliner with a 2.6 mits engine and a velvet drive 1500. The transmission slips after operating a short time and eventually loses forward. Reverse works fine. Any ideas?
 
remove the plug and check the pressure developed by the pump, and then in forward and reverse. if the pump is making and maintaining adequate pressure all the time, your issue is internal to the gear.
