ok here it goes ....I have a older 60's stardust cruiser houseboat with a inline 6 .......the boat sank in fresh water for about 5 hours....well we retrieved it and have been working on it ...the outdrive busted off of it when it hit the bottom of the lake.....and it was so messed up that it is beyond repair......I have a 1980 something sea ray with a mercruiser engine v8 and outdrive that is great shape and running ........the houseboat has a big rubber transom boot to seal it all up and the sea rays out drive mounts right to the hull of the boat......what has to be done to swap in the mercruiser engine and drive ..from the omc one.......do they make a kit to do this ...or will i have to mod up a transom plate to match the mercruiser outdrive and weld that to the back of the boat ......steel hull btw.....anything would be great ..as i stated I am very new here and hope that this is the right place to post this question .....thanks
