I'm in the proccess of doing some homework before purchasing a kicker motor for my 23 foot Sportcraft hardtop glass boat.
I want to eliminate trolling bags that I use when running the big IO.
I need to be able to get her down to 1.3 mph for walleyes but also need to run at 5 mph for muskies.
I'm concerned a 9.9 will be running too high of rpms at 5 but also that the 20 won't go slow enough or that ill have to run it below optimum rpms.
I know all boats/hulls are different but hoping for some educated input on the subject.
I have no problem with keeping 2 props and switching them out when necessary.
Can anyone tell me what top and bottom speeds I can expect from the 9.9 and 20hp 4 stroke motors and with which prop pitch?
Thanks!
