I have a 1966 Evinrude 33hp (33602) I have just replaced the bearings on the prop shaft and the skeg, I just got the boat back from my brother inlaw because he couldnt figure out why it wouldn't shift. Long story short it had water in the bottom seized the bearings and cracked the over the winter. My questions are how much gear oil does it take and will 90 weight be ok to use. I've heard people say type c but I'm not sure. Do I just fill it up until it comes out like a car rear end?

Thanks for your help

Type c was for electric shift and the 33 is certainly not electric shift.------Fill with 90 weight till it comes out the top.-------The bottom half ( skeg ) should not really be replaced by itself as bottom and upper are machined as a set.----Repair where it is leaking !!
