Lots of oil

I bought a new 20 H.P. Honda and never had it in the water for 3 years . I took it to a lake this year to test it . It started just fine and as long as it wasn't under power it ran great . When it was under power it won't turn up and black oil was coming out of the exhaust ? It has been on its side but the right up and 99% of the time on a stand . What do you think the problem would be ?

Check the oil...could have too much. Should be about 1/4 inch below full level. Check crankcase breather hose for a critter nest. It might be plugged or carburetor muffler (black plastic intake on front of carburetor may have a nest in it.
