Power problem with 1988 6 hp Johnson

I have a Johnson 6 hp J6RLCCS and have a problem. After using the tiller kicker for trolling today, on the way back to the ramp I lost almost all of my power. The motor starts and runs but with the tiller at full throttle, I am barely at a high idle. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave.
 
Thanks to all for responding. It was indeed a broken roller cam follower. Hard to believe that piece of plastic lasted, as long as it did, under all of that stress.
