1994 225 evinrude caughs every few seconds

Engine coughs every few seconds. Some might call it a hiccup.When it does that the idle drops about 100 RPM and a puff of smoke comes out. Please help.
 
Hey, how come my question does not get answered? I am sad...just kidding!
To be honest, I don't have much time to be here. But I hate seeing questions go unanswered everytime I am up here. So, as a junky mechanic, wrenching these block for decades, myself, I try to give it the best shot.
 
qhn,you were right I was sad. I did the compression test which ranged between 104 at one cylinder, 106 at four cylinders and 111 at one cylinder (600hrs on the engine). Then I fixed a spark issue by cleaning the ground on the coil. The spark issue was at cylinder which had 111 psi compression. After doing that I still had the same problen. Then I did the seafoam treatment which kimcrwbr1 recommended above, and that fixed it. Thank you both for your help.

I am curious, how do you sink 6 carbs. Also what should the compression be at.
