"This is a Yamaha S175TXRU. It's a 1996 Saltwater Series II. I bought this used in 99 and never had any sign of a prblem till this year. It used to purr like a kitten with lots of power.
Now it misses at idle and low rpm. This started happening with the 1st use after a nine month storage period. It seems to smooth out at around 2700 rpm, but still lacks power.
I did all I know how to do: changed plugs, cleaned ignition coil wires, changed fuel, used carburator cleaner, etc. There is no sign of varnish in fuel filter, but did not check elsewhere.
Engine seems to be running on all 6, but spark intensity varies. It seems weaker on lower cycliders. After running on hose for about 20 minutes on high idle, I noticed center and lower plug on right side are fouled. Others are clean.
There has never been any other work done on this engine. Anyone have any ideas?
