Can I lay the motor down on the ground?

Well can I?

Its a 1998 115 hp Johnson. I'm lifting it off the transom and I'm wondering If I can lay it down, not sure how the cherry picker will hold up after a few weeks of a dangling motor. It weighs 315 lbs and I'm wondering if the cowell can handle it. Please share your thoughts on this

If it's a good cherry picker it should hang forever. If you have to lay it down, block it up on some strong points of the power head. A pallet is a good place to lay it.
