Interceptor 352 restore - rocker shaft stantion question

I'm in the middle of restoring a 1958 Dearborn Interceptor (Ford FE Block) and am curious about a wierd little steel tube that is coming out of one rocker shaft stand. When I disassembled and photo documented the process 2 years ago, I didn't get a shot of this little device. It is a 3/16" dia. tube about 1-1/2" long necked down to about a 1/16" dia. opening, and points directly into the adjacent push rod opening. On the rocker shaft, it comes out of the stand that is next to the the oil supply stand in the middle portion of the head.
Question is; which bank does it belong on and what was it's purpose?? I have my suspicions, but I'd be best to ask the experts here. I'm going to post some pictures of it here - hope this works.
Thanks in advance,
Paul
