1990 40 eld wont idle

I have a 1990 yamaha 40 eld the carbs have beeb cleaned 2 times. It would idle for 2 min before running out of fuel. But it only ran out at idle or trolling speed. Anything above it wouldn't. I put in a new fuel pump with all new lines. It idles better and long but still shut off. But now it does not run it self out of fuel it. Because it starts right back up. Didn't know if u can adjust the idle. Any help would be helpful.
 
There are idle adjustment screws on the carburetors.----------------Is fuel run out of carburetors before storage and inbetween use ?
 
There is likely one screw to bump up the idle speed.---------------There are screws on each carburetor for idle mixtures.
 
should i mess with the mixture screws and if so . is it the deeper in they are the more rich it runs. or just try the idle screw. i found the idle screw and im taking out on the water in a little bit to try it out
