Yamaha 9.9 Remote To Tiller

Is it possible to convert a High Thrust Remote 9.9 Yamaha outboard from a remote to a tiller. And what would be needed to do it. It is electric start model.

You can do it but the handle, if you have a 6G8 motor is a lot of parts and significant $. I have tips but need your model #.

Hi sounds a lot of work we have this problem on my son fishing boat on the South Coast of England. Marcos engine had major gearbox problem so as it was not possible to find a new 6G8 ex long shaft in UK we bought used unit, now find old engine tiller is very bad state and wish to replace whole unit. Have ask Marco to forward me engine numbers.
