cowling says 200 black max serial # appears to be a 3.4

Its really tough to pin down what Black max engine I have on my hands. according to the info I can find for serial# A179297
That serial # is supposed to be a 3.4 liter according to the only place I can find serial #s starting with the letter "A" however the cowling says 200 black max oil injected. Does anyone know where i can dig further to get info on this outboard? I would truly appreciate it Thanks

Hi there, This engine serial number belongs to a 1985 MERCURY 2.4L 200 H.P. ELPTO (V-6) (200 H.P. Model Number 1200725.

The engine parts catalog from Mercury is going to be 90-821303 - 200 H.P. (V-6) (1978-1988 COMBINED BOOKS).
