Coil Resistance and float spec

I have a mid-eighties Merc V150. I am testing the coils to remedy a performance problem. The Merc manual states that resistance should be 800-1100 ohms. I am getting around 230 ohms in each of 5 coils with about 900 in the last one. It seems to me that the one at 900 is the problem but the manual states 800-1100 is normal. Is the spec in the manual wrong.

On another front, what is the spec for the carb floats setting? Thanks very much.
 
Do a simple spark check.---Good ignition / spark on a motor like that should be able to jump a gap of 7/16" or better.--------------Test run it with a timing light hooked up ( do all 6 ) and see how spark behaves.-------------Performance problem ?-----Start with a compression test and see if the motor is healthy
