mercury 40hp 1980 wiring question see image

SAM_0620.jpghi i need to know what wires go to the condenser and does the starter motor need an earth to work or just that yellow cable plus where do i connect the control wires SAM_0623.jpgthese are the wires from my controls any ideas?
 
No condensers on that motor.-------------Find the wiring diagram at ----mastertechmarine-----------website.

What condenser? :confused: The ignition box is on top of that back cage section. The battery charge rectifier is right below that with two yellow leads from the stator and a read lead to the starter realy below that.

ok so i need a new thermostat after finally getting to theone already in the engine guarded by a lifetimes amount of rust. my next question is where on the engine do i put the mercury stop switch i have it but is just dangling? and the other is how do i know which chamber is 1 and which is 2?
