My 5 HP 2011 Honda Outboard is not cutting it

If it is more power that you want, it's time to trade in on an 8 HP.

If the engine is running ok, but bogging down some due to the weight in the boat, you can put a smaller pitch prop on it. Honda makes one that is about one pitch less....
58130-ZV1-941ZB it is 7 7/8 x 6 5/8. It will give you more rpm and a little better push....it will still be only 5 HP.

As they say...."it is what it is".

Yep! I just "inherited" about 45 of these little "fives" and they are not "cutting it" for us either. They don't have the power and they are not the kind of quality needed for a rental lake boat business for sure. That's what makes them so "affordable".

Mike is right about trading up and the BF8D is one great little outboard. But, for my money, if I were going to go there, I'd opt for the 9.9 with electric start version. More power AND convenience for a bit more money at approximately the same weight.
