I finally got around to doing the yearly inspection on my 140 four stroke, this is a 2003 Johnson badged Suzuki, essentially the same as Suzuki's DF140. I was looking down the list of items in the workshop manual and two things came up that I have not done in the past.
The motor has ~300 hours on it and I have never set or checked the IAC valve, is this a big deal? The motor starts, idles and runs fine?
The second thing is, it says to check the "timing belt", now I know this has a timing chain with a automatic tensioner. I can understand the book may have meant to say chain, but is there a way to inspect this externally?
