Allison M oil

Hi,
I have a 671N with a Allison M gearbox,in the manual it states use the same oil in the gearbox as you do in the engine.
I am using mono 40 in the engine,obviously i should use mono 40 in the gearbox.Is this correct?

40 weight in the tropics perhaps but in temperate latitude zones 30 weight is usually recommended. That is my understanding anyway. Others may have different opinions.
