Wiring harness on f250Xtr

Im considering buying a wellcraft 290 coastal, 2008 with twin F250XTRs engines were manufactured in 2006. The repair history shows replacement of the wiring harness and water pressure sensors first in 2009 under warranty and again in 2011 out of warranty (I'm told Yamaha did apply a discount on the repair in 2011 even though the kengines were out of warranty. Can anyone offer insight as to what could have caused such a problem? Twice? Was there a problem with the production run?

The hull and everything else are in great shape, the boat has not been surveyed or sea trailed yet, just trying to get some background info before taking the next step.
Any help is much appreciated

Thanks, joe

Water pressure sensors had an an issue which allowed water to leak through into the harness. If the replacement has been done you should be ok. You might want to look at the connector on the ECM and see if there is any corrosion on any of the connecting pins. Otherwise you should be good. Anything else would be really minor. Sweet motors by the way. Make sure they can turn 6K WOT.

Thanks for the info, I Spoke with someone in tech support at Yamaha in georgia and that's exactly what they said. They pulled the records on those motors and confirmed the new redesigned sensor was installed
