engine wont turnover

I overheated the engine after getting out of muddy bottom. I stopped and let it cool down to inspect what's going on. Must have damaged the impeller. Tried starting it. It will crank but not turnover. Crankshaft won't turn completely. Any idea what else did I damaged? Could a debri in the impeller cause this not start?
 
I would remove all the spark plugs and crank the engine over again. Keep your face clear and disconnect the ignition. Water may shoot out of the cylinders. I would do this as soon as possible. If there is water in the cylinders it will destroy your engine.
