I am working on a friend's boat with an older OMC I/O, 302 Ford with the log-type exhaust manifolds that have the risers that bolt on the top rear, which I am told were only used around '77-'78. The starboard one is badly cracked, is there any reason I can't use the later center-riser type setup, as they are much easier to find and a better design? Seems like longer exit hoses and an elbow would do the trick? Any other problems, as long as it fits in the doghouse? If not, where can the log-type manifold be found?
