Yammy 4hp 4 stroke 2008 Starts & idles but won't rev. :( Whats up?

The 4hp was stored over winter, flushed out and dried off before storing.
It started OK and idled fine, but needed choke to keep going. After a minute or so, it settled to a nice smooth idle with no choke, but twisting the throttle - it won't rev and stalls. Starts just fine again at idle - only.
I have:
Drained the carb and checked fuel filter.
Drained petrol tank and refilled with fresh fuel.
Checked the plug - not fouled, wet or very sooty.

WHAT ELSE???? Help!!

Having to use the choke to keep it running clearly indicates carburetor problems.----------4 strokes that are stored with fuel in the carburetors suffer brom blockages in extremily small jets / passage ways.--------------Solution is to properly clean the carburetor.---------------Always run fuel out of the carburetor when motor is not going to be used for a week or more !
