I have a 2006 hoda 75 hp outboard. It idles well and hi rpm is ok. Between 2000-3500rpm it hestates badly. It has the lean burn control O2 sensor Can one of these be an issue and how can I determine what the issue might be ???

If this problem has always existed for you, you probably have an ECM issue.

In Dec 2007, there was a Service Bulletin that addressed a problem just like you are describing. "engine surges when the trottle is held steady between 2000 and 3000 rpm.

The fix was to change out the ECM.

If you are in the USA and the unit is still under warranty, the changeout is covered under warranty.

By the way, if you have the fuel injected version, you have a BF75D not BF75A (which is carburated).
