Dashboard redo?

I am looking to re-paint my dashboard on a '89 wellcraft 180 sport and wanted to see someones advice as wether on how should I approach the right way and making it look good?

Please let me know asap bc I plan on starting in the morning.
 
Ok, Buff and polish what ever is there, make a teak panel for your instruments and switches, base of the throttle/shifter, and something behind or under your electronics. Or, some other material like stainless or a plastic product of some sort. But, I'm a sucker for Burmese teak. Honduras mahogany is a bit cheaper. I have no idea what your helm looks like so, how about a photo?

Update....used industrial goo gone on the dashboard just to see if it cleans up some of the stuff. Come to find out it made it look brand new again. Hope this will help anyone, oh and I bought it at lowes it was like 6 or 7 bucks.
