DF115 overheating

Help my Df115 has developed a overheating problem immediatly after its annual service which included impellar change (engine is a 2005 with 340 hrs use). My engineer so far has only found a problem with the thermostat and replaced it, engine runs fine at low revs and telltale is very good but as revs increase to 3 to 4000rpm telltale gets weaker and engine temp rises untill engine goes into safe mode. My engineer has checked the obvious - poppit valve etc and bottom half of engine internally is very clean, but thinks that there must be a partial blockage caused by salt corrosion in the top of the engine somewhere in the cooling galleries/passages and that our next option is to fill up the cooling system with a caustic solution and allow it to stand and hopefully breakdown the blockage - otherwise it is a top end stipdown to manually remove the blockage. Has anyone had a similar problem or any advice. Dave
