Under the dual control cover there are 4 lock down nuts each one has an adjustment screw (they are not the 2 friction adjustments for the levers)... these are on top of the metal control box...what are these??

I can not find them mentioned or noted in the operations manual?

One is the full throttle stop adjustment bolt and the other is the reverse throttle stop. These normally are not adjusted unless the control is used on a BF25 - Bf50 or the control is physically installed backwards (for one reason or another - then there is also a lot inside of the box that has to be changed - not recommended).

There is a set on the port and a set on the starboard shifter.

I'm trying to do most of it myself but I am in a little over my head.Have you read my low compression thread? Got Virgil from A+ MOTORS on A1A in Stuart coming to my dock this afternoon.I was an Evinrude test boat driver 26 years ago and got a lot of exposure to outboards and boats.

Just read the thread...keep us posted on what you find out. You are certainly over my head with all 6 cylinders reading low compression on the one motor...good luck!
