2000 25 hp Problem? Problems?

Bought it with only around 15 hours on it, took it out 4 or 5 times, and it ran pretty good then the temp problem started and now it seems to be starving for fuel and wont stay running. Anyone have any ideas on what could be my problem? Thanks, Heather
 
It is hard on motors to sit idle for years.--------------Hopefully you installed a new impeller as they are damaged with the passage of time and not the hrs of use.--------------If fuel was left in the carburetor then likely a good cleaning is in order.
