converting 6-71ti from captiol gears to twin disc

i have a pair of 6-71ti that i am putting in a boat engines had captiol gears on them before looking to put twin disc or zf on need down angle what to i need to do to put gears on

I switched from HY22000 Capitols behind 6V92s in a 1982 Post. My Capitols were straight gears, not down angle.

I went to MG5085 SC Twin Disc. They are straight gears and I only had to lower the motors 1/2 inch. The closest ratio match was about 10% faster than the Capitols which means I had to change the props.

ZF has a model that might have worked even better because the drop difference was even less and the gear ratio was much closer to what the Capitols were. I don't remember the number but I found it in their catalog about 4 years ago after I ordered the Twin Discs.
