Had to make a shaft replacement on my tilt drive. I noticed that the oil had been infused with water and found an O ring that needed to be replaced. I will drain the tilt drive and refill it with the proper lubricant. Should I flush the unit with a solvent ? Or what would someone suggest I use........ Boats in the water after 2 years of work thanks to all the kind people on this forum...and it runs great..........Island boy
 
I would fill it with oil then let it sit for a couple of days, then drain the oil again. The water and oil will separate with the water on the bottom and it should come out first. When you see clear oil put the plug back in and top it off to the normal level.
