Fuel Pump Mystery

Graham: I hope you're out there!

Merc triple with triangular-shaped fuel pump. Has all new parts (including check valves and gaskets below) but barely pumps, even when the throttle is opened up. Substituted different fuel system, (tank, lines, connectors); no difference. Even installed the fuel pump on a different power head; no difference!

I'm baffled. Got an idea?

No to both--and on BOTH motors that the pump won't work on.

This one's a beauty!

PS: Just put ANOTHER new diaphragm kit in it and checks: no difference.
 
I know this is teaching granny to suck eggs:D but are all the wee holes in the pump gasket clear or in the right place?
 
Must be something wrong with the pump then.--------------Since there is " nothing wrong with the motors "--they are on .-------------I guess these pumps are so simple that you can make mistakes on them.
 
That or....??? I don't have another triangular pump housing or I'd try that as well.

PS: All vacuum holes are open, both through gaskets and in the passages under the pump. Thanks for the suggestions.
