I have a 17'6" flat bottom aluminum boat with a 6' beam, 20" transom. The boat is homemade and probably weighs around 800lbs. I decided to get a Yamaha F60tlr put on the boat. See attached photo.
All of the yamaha dealers in my area (Baton Rouge) have no inventory of the Yamaha F60. None are expecting to recieve shipments until late October at the earliest. One area Yamaha dealer specializes in pontoon boats and keeps inventory of the T60, with larger gears/prop. The F60 is 237lbs and the T60 is 267lbs.
I am thinking of going with the T60. Is this a good fit for my boat?
