"91 yamaha 9.9hp 4 stroke: Prime ball (bulb) loses prime while running

Trying to troll and prime goes dry and motor stops. had it tuned up. Starts up right away after ball is primed. Is there possibly an air leak in the gas line or is it engine internal?

Check for air in lines, also if you ever cut the hose off the bulb itself you may have accidently taken a sliver off the plastic. Learned this one the hard way!
 
I have not taken apart any lines. There must be air in the lines if the ball goes dry. What, other than the afore mentioned, could cause me to lose prime.?
 
If you were running fine before this started and didnt mess with the lines it could be more serious. Do a forum search as there are several topics in the archives. Good luck.
