I recently purchased a 1978 Mercury 150hp. It is a V6. I keep getting questionable results when looking up the serial number. The number is #5025197. I have received several responses that the motor is too old to lookup????? I thought I had a V150, but there appears to be a few flavors of models that can have my serial number;(Magnum, Work...) I'm just not sure how to make a definitive determination of which model i have. Can anyone tell me what to look for to distinguish the different models of that year?
