Have a F90 Yamaha that has developed a milkshake in the oil.... Water in the sump...
Have the powerhead off for necessary repairs... Wanted to know what is the best way of washing out the milky oil out of the sump.

Hoping not to have to completely disassemble the midsection, but dont want to put a rebuilt powerhead on without the sump properly cleaned...

What do you pros do???

As long as there was no metal involved, I would get some cleaner degreaser like Super Clean (purple in color I buy at Napa) and dump in there with hot water and let it sit awhile, then agitate it far a bit and wash it out with hot water. That stuff even knocks the carbon off of midsection parts.

Thanks PBR... Ill giver her a good clean.... I was hoping not to have to disassemble the whole thing....
