1982 chrysler 140 hp

i have a 1982 140 chrylser and need to replace the impellar. 1. is it something i can do myself. will i need the whole kit, or can i just replace the impellar?

Easy to do.Get a FACTORY manual.Most cases the impeller is all you need.Remove it and inspect it.
You run in fresh water so it shouldn't be corroded too bad.
Post some pics of the housing inside.J
 
thankyou i did buy a manual and have started pulling the lower uint. i have the six bolts out and the cotter pin for the upper sleeve, but the lower unit is not coming loose. did i miss something or is it just stuck what is a good methed too pulling it out i appreciate any help you can give me. :)
