have a reed question

have a 04 merc 90hp 2 stroke. took off carbs to clean checked out reeds not cracked.if i push them they open. question is how far will they open and how hard.just want to know having problem with wet plugs and rough idol. tks
 
Likely not a reed problem , they pretty much respond to engine speed / vacuum in crankcase.-------------Do a compression test before any other spendy work.
 
i have cleand carbs,checked compression,changed gas,rebuilt fuel pump,new plugs,tried diff. coils.tried to check timing but hooked up light only would flash once think lights bad.any ideas iam out of ideas. tks
 
Looked at the checkvalves in the bleed system.----------Found on the intake system. Carburetors have to come off again to find them .----------Look for these items on ------------mercruiserparts.com----------
