-2004 70 hp 4-stroke problem

New member
Engine gave up. Gas tank was found to be leaking gas out and sea water in. Changed the tank, now the enginge will not give full rpm. Gives a bit more than 3000 rpm, don`t know what it`s supposed to give, but it`s not performing normally. Have replaced the fuel filter to one with better flow and checked the ignition plugs, which look good. Did not help. What`s wrong?

Hm, could you explain what the VST filter is? I have changed the small fuel filter on the fuel line just inside the motor cover, i guess you are talking about something else.
It`s probably hard to explain where this pump sits, but if you could try i would appreciate it, maybe a picture or drawing?

Remove the intake manifold and dismantle the vapor chamber.
Inside is the electric high pressure pump with filter.
