an oil tube to #2 piston (behind #2 carb) came off resulting in #2 piston scoring and some cylinder wall light scoring. I haven't been able to determine the extent of the damage but I will hopefully get by with light honing, replacement of #2 piston, all new rings and gasket set. mechanic by trade but never done a powerhead so I`m here to do some research. I kindly accept all suggestions, hints and tips thanks in advance! The powerhead is off and split. Looking for specs and tolerances right now. any pros cons to honing versus machine shop job? get the manual and follow it step by step. I have done rebuilds and only fixed the bad cylinders (however I have not been doing it as long as JUSTINTIME), but make sure you do a complete inspection on any parts you plan to reuse. get the Mic's and do all the checks, make sure if you have to bore to take it to a shop that does marines blocks. if you read the manual it's easy, if not....?
