I have an older wooden boat. The propeller shaft's hole leaks into the hull. One suggestion was to line the hole with brass tubing. I was wondering if it has to be brass. For example could I just use PVC? The propeller shaft is 1" diameter and the hole is 1 1/2" diameter.
Also I had to cut off the propeller shaft connector (it was too rusted) to remove the shaft. It is a 4" four hole type. Any ideas of where to get a replacement part?
